Join us for the 2nd in the Keyhole Exhibition series : bringing together a collection of artists showing works relating to illicit substances proven to have therapeutic value, in 395 Bristol Creative Community Hub

As research accelerates into a growing number of psychoactive substances that until recently have been depicted by the media as harmful and addictive, Keyhole Exhibition provides an open space to start a free discussion on how these substances can be utility for better mental health.

KEYHOLE EXHIBTION

PROPOSAL

Life After Lockdown

The Psychedelic Renaissance

Bringing together a collection of artists showing works relating to controlled psychoactive substances that are proven to have a therapeutic value.

The therapeutic value of psychedelics has been known since research began in the 1950s and 60s. But due to the establishment’s fear of counter-cultural movements of the time which involved the recreational use of these substances, the plug was pulled on all research and a hardline stance was taken to demonize and promote misinformation. Since then, the pharmaceutical industry has had a vested interest in suppressing any attempts to continue this research.

Thankfully due to information that is now readily available, the potential therapeutic benefits of psychedelics are impossible to ignore. Clinical trials are now in progress for a variety of controlled psychoactive substances, that seem set to disrupt large sectors of the pharmaceutical industry. Just a few sessions of psychedelic therapy have the potential to cure people of lifelong mental illnesses that they currently manage with repeat prescriptions of harmful and addictive pharmaceutical drugs that have many negative side effects.

KeyHole Exhibition aims to provide an open space to start a free discussion on how these substances can be utilised as a tool to heal neuroses perpetuated by our disconnected, modern lifestyles and help develop a more meaningful and fulfilling existence.

Mental health professionals will be available to discuss the emerging subject of psychedelic therapy in a new light,

the dawning of a holistic approach to treating addiction and mental health.
